The goal of this project is for you to think of a “research” question that you find interesting and that you can answer with the material learned in class. In particular, you should put the methods from Chapter 5 (testing) to use. So, you should think of a question, find an appropriate data set, form a statistical hypothesis and carry out a test procedure. You may also get inspiration by browsing through available data sets first to come up with a question that interests you. An excellent source of publicly available data sets of all sorts is the platform kaggle  You should let us know which data set you use before you dive into your project in order for us to avoid that everybody uses the same. 

• You can hand in your report in English . 

• Your project has to include carrying out a statistical test procedure (for this course, either t- or F -test, or both) to test a carefully set up hypothesis (or several ones). 

• Simply testing whether a particular variable has an influence on the dependent variable is not sufficient – you should come up with more sophisticated ques-tions/ hypothesis (that cannot simply be read off from the R output). 

• Additionally using content from other chapters (e.g. prediction, interpretation of coefficients, measures to compare different models, etc etc) is beneficial. You can 

also use methods from textbooks for linear regression models that we didn’t cover in class. (You will have to clearly state the source of your knowledge). 

• Your project should include (but is not limited to) an introduction where you present your general question, a section describing the data set (including the source!) and some pretty graphs, a section employing the methods, and a con- clusion. 

• It’s best to be short and concise.
