Endnote journal (Individual),
EndNote is a software tool which allows you to create a database of references (including the documents – usually PDF) which becomes your library. The program allows you to:
• Import citations and abstracts from Google Scholar and online databases into your EndNote Library (Be wary, these are sometimes incomplete.);
• Add captured webpages from the EndNote web version as references in your EndNote Library;
• Search library catalogues worldwide and save the details directly to your EndNote Library;
• Manually type references into your EndNote Library;
• Store, open, annotate and highlight the PDF of each article attached to a record;
• Use your database of references (i.e. EndNote Library) to insert in-text citations and create a List of References;
• Automatically when writing a word document (MS Word, Pages versions 1 – 5.2, Open Office); and
• Collaborate with fellow students or researchers by sharing your library (EndNote Web).

Assignment 2 has several steps. Please, be mindful of each.
1. Download and become familiar with Endnote software;
2. Create an Endnote library containing at least 10 references to the topic: the challenge to re-design the school curriculum to better
prepare students for life and work in the 21st century. You may include references for any published source of information in your Endnote library, including books, book chapters, journal articles, reports, etc. However, you must include at least the following: 4 journal articles, 1 books, 1 report, and no more than 2 websites.
3. Critically, analyse 3 of the sources included in your Endnote Library (representing 3 different research methodologies) following the written annotation instruction is part 4. You must include these annotations in the ‘Abstract’ field of the Endnote record. Each annotation must be approximately 300 words in length. Please note that, when you download records from library database into Endnote you may find
that the author’s abstract is transferred to the Endnote ‘Abstract’ field. Move this abstract to another unused field within the record. The Endnote Library you submit must include your own annotation (3) in
the ‘Abstract’ field.
4. Submit your Endnote bibliography with all references in your library, using the Endnote ‘Annotated’ style.
