Economical Analysis Assignment:
Task:
Genetic Algorithm based Energy Management System (EMS) of a Grid-connected Microgrid for Economical Analysis.
Design a model of Grid-connected Microgrid using Simulink as shown in Fig. 1 and write codes of Genetic algorithm based EMS for optimal economic operation in MATLAB and connect MATLAB (m.file) codes with Simulink model using Sim function. The Solar Irradiance (W/m2), Temperature (Centigrade), Wind Speed (m/s) and High Demand Load Power (W) is given in excel file. The power of PV is 10KW and power of wind is 6KW and initial condition of state of charge of battery is 60% (See table 1). The objective function, system constrains and details of objective function and system constrains is given. Further details can be seen from manuscript titled “Enhanced MG with Optimum Operational Cost of Pumping Water Distribution Systems”. In addition, control design, grid tariff, operation and maintenance cost of PV, Wind and Battery is given in Table 2.

Results:
• Display the scheduled and measured generation profiles for PV and WT, respectively.
• Display Microgrid scheduled power flow with and without EMS respectively and the purchased power from the grid with and without EMS.
• Display the output variables (Grid Power, Battery Power, SOC (%) of Battery, Battery voltage, Cost) of the proposed Microgrid with and without EMS.
• For Comparison of results: With EMS means Genetic Algorithm based Energy Management System and without EMS means Rule based Energy Management System.
