‘We See You, White American Theater’ movement gains traction
This Playbill article has several links to more coverage on the efforts to decolonize the creative space, the community of theatres in response BLM, etc. Please explore and read some of them.

As we cultivate our understanding of the historical importance of theatre to act as a cohesive for society, how does it fail in its duty reading about this movement? As we learn what it is to be an active audience member and even developing an awareness of our voice as theatre critic, it is also essential to evaluate who we are, our set of values, or morals.
What has been your experience with the professional theatre world, if any? If you have never been to the theatre, think about culture as represented by Hollywood: Do you find yourself reflected or overlooked in the overculture? If yes, why? If no, explain why not? The Wee See You WAT petition directly accuses that the professional theatre of abandoning BIPOC communities and programming for mostly white audiences. As we think of ways to imagine so many sectors of society with a more equitable lens, how do theatres court new audiences? What is their responsibility as culture makers? Can they gain trust back? What kind of outreach, programming, etc would you recommend to make theatre accessible to BIPOC, or people your age, or LGBTQ+, or people with disabilities?please edit my essay and proof read it

Essay 3 Prompt: Argumentation Challenging the Single Story Introduction It is our human nature to stereotype, to assume, to make generalizations, and to oversimplify. Often, we make judgements about others, others who may not be like us, creating what Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Adichie calls a single story of someone. According to Adichie, we create a single story when we “show a people as one thing, as only one thing, over and over again, and that is what they become.” In her TED talk, “The Danger of a Single Story,” Adichie warns that if we hear only that single story about another person or country, we risk a critical misunderstanding. This paper will seek to confront and challenge the idea of single story. Your task will be to think of a single story that has perpetrated your life (the single story of Iraqi refugees, or that of Mexican immigrants, or that of teenage mothers, or African American males, or community college students, or any other). While a single story of any of these exists, we know that there is more to it than that. Like Adichie warns, these single stories have been told over and over again, but it is now time for us to break them apart, to look closely at what is being missed, to learn (like Adichie did) the complexities within the story. To do so, you will trace the single story’s origins and its spread into the mainstream with the purpose of showing your readers what the mainstream leaves out, what more is there to know, what else is true. Understanding the complexity of single stories is essential to effectively operating in our diverse world. A main reason most students enroll in college is to prepare themselves for a career. Submit Draft to NetTutor: Wednesday, 4/17 2. NetTutor Draft: Monday, 4/22 3. Self-Assessment: Monday 4/22 4. Final Draft: Wednesday, 4/24 Task: Begin by selecting a particular single story. Your essay should answer the following question: Where did your single story originate/come from? Who/what contributes to its continuous spread? Who confirms or challenges it? In what ways is it incomplete? What else should be known about this single story? More Specifically: • Your essay should identify a “single story” about a person, place or event. • Your essay should include research on the possible origin of the single story. Who created it and why? Your job is to look into the historical context from which the single story emerged? • Your essay should also address and discuss how and by whom this single story is spread or validated? • Finally, your essay should address how this single story is currently or can be broadened or completed. • Your essay should include five (5) credible sources that you select. 1. At least three (3) sources must be located through the library’s databases 2. One (1) of the sources can be interviews with people who have knowledge of the topic. • Your essay should be well-structured with a clear beginning, middle, and end. • Below is a list of components to include: 1. Introduction: introduce and familiarize your reader with the single story you plan to tackle/analyze/complicate 2. Literature review: research the origin of your chosen single story. 3. Argument: provide examples of what is missing from the mainstream representation of your chosen single story and analysis of the way it is incomplete 4. Conclusion: explain the significance of the work you have just completed. Why is it important that we talk about single stories? What is the value of finding ways to challenge the single story? I’m stuck on a question and need an explanation.
Understanding the “big picture” of the corporate or organizational world is fundamental to becoming an effective strategic HR partner, Organizations have always had a well-defined process for strategic planning and decision making, but for decades it rarely involved HR, which was typically relegated to support functions such as hiring, firing, training, compensation (payroll, benefits), teams, morale, conflict management, etc. . Today, in the complex world requiring acute organizational flexibility to accommodate almost overnight changes like acquisitions and mergers – or liquidations – and new markets and competition, the CEO and Chief Executive’s team (the Corporate Suite, or, C-Suite) need the knowledge and insight of HR in capitalizing on its greatest asset, its human capital and its organizational knowledge. It is well established that the organizations that manage its knowledge like a tangible asset, have an edge in an ever evolving and highly competitive world. With this in mind and using the assigned readings for this week, identify an organization with which you are familiar, and:
Briefly describe the organization Based on what you know of HR functions, describe how HR appears to function within that organization and how it evolved, (i.e., briefly relate the history) Describe how HR appears to effectively/ineffectively leverage the organization’s intangible assets, e.g., knowledge, to the organization’s benefit, providing at least two specific example(s). Assess where they are and where they need to be in light of HR’s changing role as a strategic partner.
Be sure to cite examples from this week’s readings and others you find in the Library to support your claims.
