Topic 1- Research introduction.

The topic being researched is foster care. This topic is important foster care affects many children for many reasons. The affects of children entering the foster care system can be unnerving emotionally.

The reason I chose the topic is because I work in the youth department at my church where I come in contact with many children in the foster care system. I hope to gain knowledge on how to help and support these children. This topic is relevant to children birth through the age eight because this is the age group where many children are introduced to foster care. Even though foster children are emotionally fragile making the transition into foster care can be made a positive experience. The specific research question for the topic is how foster care affects the lives of children.

Topic 2- What is the Scholarly Journal?

According to Victor Valley College Library (2020), Scholarly Journals are very important to professionals in their personal fields of study. The articles written in these journals are written by either students or experts in the field they are reporting on. The articles are written on experiments or surveys these professionals have conducted. Many of these professionals use charts or graphs to substantiate their findings. These articles are usually located in journals that are sponsored by professional associations, and contain technical jargon related to their profession.

There are differences between scholarly journals and other sources of information such as books, webpages, and magazines. Scholarly journals do not market advertising as you would find in magazines. The authors references are listed, their articles are evaluated by an editorial board or another expert before the article is published in a scholarly journal. Many articles written in magazines and books are not written by professionals and are written in the opinion of the author of the article. Many articles in scholarly journals have a DOI ( Digital Object Identifier) that permanently identifies articles and research reports. Many articles in scholarly journals also include a literature review or literary criticism given by peers in that field of study. Magazines, web sites, and books do not follow all these strict guidelines when publishing articles.

I’m working on a Business question and need guidance to help me study.

Task 1: What is the difference between sustaining and disruptive technology? How do they relate to the concept of electronic business value? (1 Page, 4 References)

Task 2: (1 Page, 4 References)

Explain the below concepts and apply the outcomes/concepts to a business organization that exhibits and demonstrates these concepts. Provide a summary of the organizations strategy and how they use these concepts to compete.

Concepts: E-Business & E-Business Components/E-Commerce & Types of E-Commerce/E-Commerce Trends/Important Legal Issues for E-Commerce/Ethical Issues & Security and Privacy)

Task 3: Scenario/Case Study (1 – 1.5 Page, 4 references)

You have worked as a sales representative for the last three years, and your boss has just quit. You have been asked to take over as manager of your region, and you are going to accept for two reasons. First, you would like to move up and try something different and more challenging. Second, you have been very disappointed with the way your prior manager ran your sales group. He was not a good people manager and he did very little to motivate the sales representatives. More specifically, he let the low performers slide by, while the top performers (which you feel you are) did not seem to be recognized for their contributions. The situation was not horrible; he was not abusive or hostile in any way. But you know the group has some talented people and could do much better—if only they had a motivational spark. So how would you proceed in this situation? Where would you start? What types of things would you do to enhance motivation? What would be the biggest obstacles to getting this group energized? Would there be any predictable traps to avoid?

Provide your explanations and definitions in detail and be precise. Comment on your findings.

Task 4: Explain the below concepts and select an article which demonstrates the below topics with industry example. (1 Page, 4 References)

Let’s talk about culture. My culture. Your culture. Our culture. Other’s culture. Understanding culture is fundamental to formulating and implementing change. Culture is a determining factor in the success of any change initiative. Imagine, for just a minute, that you are a drug dealer in South America. What type of culture exists that allows drug dealers to work together to stop the sale of crack, because it wrecks their neighborhoods? What does it say about the ability to implement change?

Tell us about your culture by using the Cultural Web and Hofstede’s criteria (you must use both of these models to characterize and describe your culture) to help us understand your culture. You can talk about your family, school, church, work, or any organization that is relatively stable. For example, I work in an institution whose rituals date back, literally, hundreds of years. Rituals are very different in universities in other countries; for example, at Oxford University, students there dress up for exams, and they dress identically. Furthermore, they congregate outside of the testing hall and walk into the hall two by two. The robes that you see our professors wear at graduation are also worn for exams at Oxford. In the United States, we do not require you to dress up, identically, to take exams. What does all this mean for us in terms of change? What we know is that universities in the U.S. will change and adapt, but it tends to be quite slow and only under great pressure. We have to use some extraordinary interventions to move change along.
Do NOT describe or restate the content of the discussion reading or video. Instead, choose one or two points that you find interesting/important and elaborate on those points in your discussion. Do not answer the questions in the topic as a list. Answer in essay form. A minimum response is 300 words. There are several articles in Course Materials and Web Links that you can, and should, use as references to support your discussions. You must respond to, at least, two (2) other students in class in their discussion boards as well as any questions and comments from the professor or other students. You are required to actively communicate with other students in this class. You should also respond to all students that reply to your original post. The initial post for each week’s discussion board is due by Wednesday, 11:59 p.m., of every week when a discussion board is due. Your response to the threads of other students is due no later than Saturday, 11:59 p.m. of each week when a discussion board is due. That leaves Sunday for you to respond to those who replied to your original post. There are no discussion boards in week 1 or week 9, because these are the weeks for preparation and the final exam. Discussions can be opened in any other weeks if we need them. I always suggest that students write their discussion board posts in Word or other word processing software rather than directly into Canvas. This allows you to save your work and to make corrections before you post your work publicly. Canvas has, regrettably, been known to eat some thoughtful and insightful responses simply because the response did not load correctly. Below, you will see a checklist that will help you ensure that your work meets graduate standards and decreases the likelihood that you will suffer oversights.
