Concept being Studied

Your focus is on hypothesis tests and confidence intervals for two populations using two samples, some of which are independent and some of which are dependent. These concepts are an extension of hypothesis testing and confidence intervals which use statistics from one sample to make conclusions about population parameters.

I’m working on a Statistics exercise and need support.

I would like to add that it is important that nurses who work to develop treatment plans and quality measures consider confidence intervals. We would always want to feel that the results of our data are confirmed to be accurate and so that it leaves little doubt on the results. In the Emergency Department (ED), a big focus has been placed on our throughput. We focus on our admit length of stays, discharge length of stays, and the amount of time patients have to spend holding in the ED. We have then been working to develop interventions that can help better our throughput times. By looking at tracking for the amount of visits, the acuity of the patients, and peak flow hours that affect throughput, data can be collected before and after interventions. We can then demonstrate improvements by calculating the confidence intervals in relation to the intervention.
