The videos What is Challenging Behavior helped me to understand that everyone will take a child’s behavior in various ways, you just have to keep an open mind that the child may not understand how to explain why they are upset and how we as teachers need to listen and see what the child may be trying to say. I really liked that this video talks about children’s behavior as a challenge and not bad behavior. By being able to understand that just like adults, children have bad days too. “Teachers and other adults use punishment based on the belief that children will stop unwanted behaviors in order to avoid pain, loneliness, or humiliation” (Feeney, Moravcik, & Nolte, 2019, p.174). Children will act out for different reasons. Its how you take control of the situation, that help one become a better teacher.

The second video, Including all Children is was very insightful for the reason that all children no matter if they have a disability or not, everyone deserves to have the same education and should be treated as everyone else. “When you guide young children, you lead them toward understanding themselves and developing self-control” (Feeney, Moravcik, & Nolte, 2019, p.173). This statement cannot be truer. If a child has a well-rounded picture of themselves and their surroundings, the better off they will be with being able to control their emotions.
