I don’t know how to handle this Sociology question and need guidance.

In the lecture videos, I mentioned the four agents of socialization. Briefly describe them and provide an example of socialization from your own life for each.

Describe the three types of impression management. For each one, give an example of a situation where you’d use it. Briefly explain why you would use one over another in your examples.

Topic Proposal (part I): Finding a topic (20 pts)

Copy/Paste this into a Word file and submit it here.

[1] Research question(s). That is, what are you curious about that you plan to explore further?

Argumentative or Informative (If you can’t remember the difference, google it.)?

List 3 sources you’ve already skimmed for ideas and their main points. At this point only, this can include any material, including Google and Wikipedia/Wiktionary, as these kinds of searches tend to lead you to stronger sources. Provide the exact link to the page you viewed.

Beginning Sources

1.

2.

3.

Has the above search led you to any valid sources yet? If so, list them below. If they haven’t, but you would like to find some on your own, here’s how:

Go the “Auraria Library,” then to “Databases list,” then type “LLBA” and click the LLBA link when you see it (or simply click the link provided here). Enter some topic ideas, names of scholars that might have published something you need, or the exact name of a source that you’re looking for, and list it here. Your citation needs to APA format, which the database will do for you. Simply click the article you want to cite and then click “cite” (see photo).

You can also go to Google Scholar to find interesting journal papers and books (automatic citations are provided there as well). If you haven’t found any validsources yet, that’s okay, but you will definitely need valid sources for part II of your research project, and you should check with me before submitting them (to make sure they’re valid), unless you’re absolutely certain.

What got you interested in this topic? Does it contribute to your broader academic goals in any way? Is it some way connected to something you have learned a bit about before or is this completely new for you?

[1] Informative Example: “What are some details about the life of William Caxton and his contributions to the English language not covered in class/the textbook?”

Argumentative Example: “What is the true source of verbal -s inflection in English?” (There are opposing views on this and you will need to summarize them and choose a side (thus, making it argumentative).
