Competency

Examine the nature and functions of strategic management.

Instructions

Today a new quarter begins at one of the following well-known organizations: Google, Walt Disney Company, Amazon, P&G, 3M, or Ford Motor Company. Please choose one of these organizations to complete the summative assessments for this course. Once you choose an organization, you should use that organization for all of your assignments.

There are changes on the horizon for your chosen company that could either impact business positively or negatively, so there is a need to revisit the current strategic plan.

Complete the following steps by writing a three- to four-page APA formatted paper with at least two outside sources (in addition to the text):
Research what the vision and objectives are for the organization over the next two years.
What is the current vision and has the organization followed this vision through their actions? If so, how, and if not, in what ways? What are the short-term and long-term objectives for the organization? In what ways can these objectives be achieved? (If the organization has not provided this information, use your research to hypothesize what these objectives might be, and how they could be achieved.)Â
Complete a SWOT analysis by performing research on your chosen organization. If the necessary information is not available, infer what the missing information might be based on your research.
What are the current strengths of the organization and will they still be of value as the industry changes? In what way can the current weaknesses be minimized while adapting to the change on the horizon? Are the opportunities of the previous plan still applicable? If not, what will the new opportunities be? What are the upcoming threats? Can they be addressed in the same way as they have been in the past?
In addition to answering the questions above, please answer the following question in your paper: In what way was this analysis beneficial in providing the beginnings of a well-rounded plan for the future, and in what way will this understanding impact the workforce? Incorporate information from the readings, your research, and personal experience (using APA citations where appropriate).Hidden Curriculum: assignment help philadelphia

Critical Thinking
This week you learned about how a “Hidden Curriculum” can impact student
success
in an Urban Education setting. Hidden curriculum is a set of important social skills that everyone knows, but no one is taught. However, because we work in classrooms with a wide variety of student backgrounds, those untaught social norms, expectations, idioms, and metaphors can be lost on our students.

Think about the following scenario:

Charlie was a popular sixth-grader, despite having to skip extracurricular activities because he was expected to ride the bus to his mother’s office every day after school because she worked long hours. One day Charlie was riding to school in the car with his mother when she began cursing in frustration about her work schedule. Charlie picked up on the cursing and associated it with frustration. The bell rang and Charlie went on to his first class. As he sat down, Charlie realized that he left his math book in his locker. His teacher, Mr. Way, would not let him go back to his locker, and immediately Charlie got upset and began to curse. Mr. Way sent Charlie to the principal’s office, leaving Charlie confused about what he did wrong. He thought it was okay to use curse words when he was frustrated at school. Charlie did not understand the hidden curriculum — cursing may be acceptable by adults at home, but you should never curse when addressing an adult at school.

You will write a 1-2 page analysis of what Hidden Curriculum means to you. How would you react in the scenario shared above? Include references to course readings or other research articles you found in the UHD Library databases in
order
to support your work.

Submit your paper in the Week 5 folder. Ensure it is well-written, well-organized, and adheres to the UHD APA Guidelines (https://library.uhd.edu/apa).Week 3 Discussion – The Consumer Decision Making Process

Week 3 Discussion – The Consumer Decision Making Process
Learning Objectives Covered
1. Identify and describe the five steps in the consumer decision making process
Background
The Consumer Decision Making Process
Think about a recent purchase that you made. Did you start out with a problem or need? How did you determine what product you wanted to purchase? Did the product you purchased end up filling your needs?

To determine how to connect with a consumer audience, marketers need to understand the consumer’s behavior. It’s their goal to get inside the head of a consumer. What motivates the consumer to go out and make a purchase? Why might they choose a particular product over another? Why might a customer be satisfied with their purchase or why might they choose to return it? The consumer decision making process brings to light the need or desire for products. Many purchases are made without a second thought. Some, however, take much thought and investigation. The consumer decision making process consists of five steps:

Consider how this information could be helpful to a new small business. What are some best practices they could use to influence their potential consumers to do business with them?
Factors that Influence Decision Making
There are several factors that impact and influence consumer decision-making. Consider your own buying behaviors. When you were growing up, did your personal values, teachers or other cultural factors impact what brands you chose to buy? What about social factors? Where you ever influenced by your parents or friends? Personal or individual factors that could influence decision-making include gender, age, family life cycle stage, personality, self-concept, and lifestyles. Consider these questions while you watch the video “Key Factors that Influence the Buying Decisions of Consumers.”

With the emergence of social media, word travels fast! We are able to connect with many individuals and share our thoughts and opinions even more quickly. Advertisements have become common on Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram. There are even social media influencers who are paid by companies to encourage their followers to purchase their products. While reading the below article, consider the influence social media has had on your buying decisions.

Buyer’s Remorse
Buyer’s remorse is a phenomenon that occurs more often than business owners and corporations would like. It can occur when a customer is sold something (large or small) and after purchasing it and thinking about how they may not truly need or want it, they feel remorse or even anger. The customer may choose to return the product, write a negative review or discuss their dissatisfaction with other consumers. Buyer’s remorse is often caused by dissonance, which is conflict or tension within the consumer as they consider a purchase. Please read this article which will discuss the concepts of dissonance and buyer’s remorse as well as what marketers can consider to try to avoid it:
