SCENARIO/SUMMARY

This week’s lab highlights the use of graphics, distributions, and tables to summarize and interpret data.

Follow the directions below to find one of the given academic articles from the Chamberlain library and then use that to describe the graphs and tables included. Further, you will describe other ways that the same data could be presented.

DELIVERABLES

The deliverable is a Word document with your answers to the questions posed below based on the article you find.

REQUIRED SOFTWARE

Microsoft Word

Internet access to read articles

STEPS TO COMPLETE WEEK 3 LAB

Step 1: Go to the Chamberlain Library at: https://library.chamberlain.edu (Links to an external site.) .

Step 2: Click Databases in the Search the Library block. Then choose ProQuest Nursing and Allied Health Database in the dropdown menu.

Database Search Example

Step 3: Below, you will find the titles of six articles from the ProQuest database that show a frequency distribution within the article. CHOOSE ONE OF THE ARTICLES FROM THE LIST BELOW. You will perform two searches using this article.

For our first broad-based search, use the underlined words in your chosen article to search and see how many articles from the database contain these underlined words (see the example below the article list for an example search on post-partum depression).

Article Titles

Oral manifestations in diabetic patients under treatment for ischemic heart diseases: A comparative observational study

Systolic blood pressure , diastolic blood pressure, and pulse pressure: An evaluation of their joint effect on mortality

The Relationship Between Body Mass Index (BMI) and Menstrual Disorders at Different Ages of Menarche and Sex Hormones

Adolescents’ first tobacco products: Associations with current multiple tobacco product use

Association of lifestyle modification and pharmacological adherence on blood pressure control among patients with hypertension at Kenyatta National Hospital, Kenya: A crosssectional study

Demographic, parental, and personal factors and youth athletes’ concussion -related knowledge and beliefs

Example of search on post partum depression

Make sure to checkmark Full Text and Peer Reviewed, and choose Last 12 Months from the drop down list. Also, choose English under the language section.

This will yield a list of articles about the topic that you chose. Look to see how many results were found.

For our second more narrow search, go back and search for the title of the article that you chose originally. Type A PORTION of the article title into the search bar and find the full PDF for that article.

Step 4: Complete your lab by taking the following steps

Copy and paste, or post a screen shot of the frequency distribution from the article you chose at the top of your Word document.

On your first search, what terms did you use, and what other things did you mark on the search page before conducting your search? Why did you choose the article that you did? How many articles were found with these search terms? Give the full APA reference of the article you are using for this lab.

What data are shown in the frequency distribution and why might it be of interest? Include the size of the classes, noting if they are of a consistent size or not. Also include a conclusion that could be made from the frequency distribution. (1 to 2 paragraphs)

How else might these data have been displayed? Discuss pros and cons of 2 other presentation options, such as tables or different graphical displays (1 to 2 paragraphs)

Step 5: Be sure your name is on the Word document, save it, and then submit it under “Assignments” and “Week 3: Lab”.Anticipated Salary: nursing case study help
I need support with this Algebra question so I can learn better.

Tom has just received a new job offer

He told that his salary will be $75,000.00 per year

He is also told that his salary will probably be $81,000.00 in four years

We will use this data to try to anticipate his future earnings in any given year

Assume that y= Tom’s salary amount in dollars and X = the number of years worked

Use the date given to find the rate of change, or the salary increase per year (hint: compute the slope)

We are now going to use a line model Tom’s salary growth

Use the data given and the slope value from step 1 to write the slope- intercept form of the line

Based on your equation from step 2, what will Tom’s salary be in ten years

Remember to type and save your assignment as a Microsoft Word document

Help me study for my English class. I’m stuck and don’t understand.

Editing and Revising the Research Essay

The SECOND rough draft of your research paper is due in this module by the deadline. Students will receive feedback on their first rough drafts this week. This week’s feedback from your instructor will be in an “overarching” manner. This means that the feedback you receive this week will be more of an overview of things that you have done well or things that you need to work on IN GENERAL. For example, your instructor might point out that your thesis statement doesn’t cover your entire essay. Another general feedback comment might be that you may have summarized the novel’s events too much, or you have too much directly quoted material in your essay. Maybe the minimum word count has not been met, or the Works Cited page is incorrect. Use this feedback to fix some potentially major issues before your second and final rough draft is reviewed.
APA style and format -Follow ALL guidelines for APA standard format. Reference the previous modules, as needed, for the correct APA style and formatting rules. Word count: 2,500-3,000 words – This includes the entire essay and Works Cited page. This will result in about 10 typed pages. It does NOT include the outline. Do not submit an outline in this document. Must write in third person. (no direct references to yourself – I, you, we, us, etc.) General Setup
1″ margins on all sides Font should be 12-point Times New Roman (MLA standard) Double-spaced No extra spacing should be included between paragraphs, or before or after the essay title.
Be sure to include an introductory paragraph that includes the thesis statement as the last sentence. The thesis statement should be detailed enough so that the reader will know exactly what to expect from your essay. This statement should not be vague. It should also be only one sentence. Include a proper APA title page. Include proper page numbers. References page must include all sources used in the essay (primary and secondary sources). 8 sources minimum – Try to use an even number of sources on both sides of the argument (or as close as possible). All sourced used must be credible sources from scholarly journals found in academic databases (through your college library), books, or APPROVED websites granted by your instructor. If you are unsure about a website that you would like to use, email your instructor a link to that source ASAP and request approval. It is understandable that some small changes may be made as research has been conducted. Most of the good websites will be .edu or .org websites instead of .com ones. (ex. pbs.org, etc.) As you know, Turnitin checks every paper for any similarities with websites and any paper that has been submitted to Turnitin. DO NOT COPY from any source or another paper. Anything directly quoted from any other source (other than what comes directly out of your head) must be included in quotation marks and must have an in-text citation to properly label its source. If a student plagiarizes, the sources will be identified by Turnitin. The penalty for committing plagiarism on the first offense is receiving a zero for the assignment and a document will be written up and submitted to the dean of eLearning. This college policy will be followed. If you are still unsure what constitutes plagiarism, email your instructor for more clarification ASAP. Remember that you should not include more than 25% directly quoted information in your essays. This means that at least 75% of your essays should be in your own words. Therefore, you should not use more than 1-2 short block quotes in this major research essay. Try your best to paraphrase or summarize information in your essay, and be sure to cite your sources for these as well. Even though the information is in your own words, those ideas came from somewhere outside of your own head! Give credit where it due. The submission should be one document including essay and References page.
