Assignments Description
1.Synthesis of Readings (1000 words, due on February 18, 2020 at 11:59pm via D2L dropbox)
Each of the three required readings for the course presents a vision/representation of CYC practice and identity that is different from the other two. You are asked to read each article carefully, noting the core elements of how the author(s) is/are imagining and/or describing CYC practice and identity and then focus on the obvious and nuanced differences between them. Note that you are not asked to describe each author’s vision of CYC, but instead to zero in on the tensions that emerge between ideas and concepts. Wherever possible, you are asked to use the language presented during the first five weeks of the course to synthesize these differences – speak to how these differences reflect different political contexts (neoliberal, post-truth), different contextual issues and themes (racism, gender binaries, ableism, etc., different positioning with respect to expertise, and different ways/mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion. Speak to issues of power, interpersonal relationships and community. Reference critical understandings of key terms, such as caring, intervention, treatment, etc. Note where the author(s) start(s) their analysis/discussion/vision – how are these different articles making different sets of assumptions about where CYC starts and ends?
Your synthesis will be assessed based on the following criteria:
i.demonstration of understanding the nuances of arguments, ideas and concepts presented in each of the articles in relation to the context of CYC practice and identity, as well as issues and themes covered during the first five weeks of the course;
ii.Quality of writing – conciseness, evidence of editing, APA referencing format, free of typos;
iii.Use of additional source materials beyond the three articles in meaningful and value-adding ways;
Using APA format to reference your sources is a MUST. Failure to properly cite sources and reference your work constitutes a form of plagiarism and could result in a grade of 0 for the assignment. Use APA 6th edition.Answer all questions, read carefully, make sure to cite, and answer eqach question in a different document: nursing coursework help
