In this CogLab1 which is titled Brain Asymmetry, the experiment that was conducted examined brain damage. According to this experiment, someone with a brain that has been damaged is expected to react slowly on the word “Dog”. The logic behind this is that the left hemisphere which is dominant in words and language is in one way affected by the damage that has been witnessed in the brain. On the other hand, the experiment showed that the right hemisphere is dominant in control and dimension of the left side of the body.

This part of the brain was not damaged, thus the control of the left side of the body has not been affected. The findings from this study show that, when the word “Dog” appeared on the right hemisphere, the visual information was transmitted to the left hemisphere where it was analyzed, transformed, and stored into an appropriate word for a response.
Write a 500-word abstract introducing the area of research, describing the experiment, presenting the results, and discussing the findings relative to past research in the area.

From my point of view, my data to provide me with enough evidence that, I have an asymmetric brain. This is so because when I chose the left picture on the screen, it appeared younger and above all, I looked like am right handed. From the above description, I can attest that my right hemisphere is actively involved in making immediate judgment with regard to a picture on a screen. This assessment can be supported by the fact that, global studies shows that more than 55% of both left and right-handed people see a young face on the left of a screen.
This implies that the right hemisphere is more active as compared to the left hemisphere.
In my view, the best experiment to test for brain asymmetry is by use of a series of images such as a printed word, a happy or a sad face, and a photo among others on the screen of a computer. The participant in this experiment will be asked to center his or her eyes on the middle of the screen, then select a key that correspond to the what he or she has seen on the screen. The reaction time will be used to be used whereby a faster reaction time will show that the right hemisphere is active and a slow reaction time will show that the left hemisphere is dominant.
From my point of view, driving is one of the tasks that are more difficult for a split-brain patient as compared to a normal patient. The most important part of the brain when it comes to driving is the right hemisphere. This is so because it looks at factors affecting the task of driving such as the number of cars on the road, the width of the lane, and the average speed. It then processes all this information and helps one to act wisely. If both parts of the brain are used then conflict will arise and an accident is likely to occur.
