Identify and describe your CC’s organizational structure. Provide an organization chart (a downloaded image from a reputable source is OK or you can create your own chart image) This is not opinion-based, you should research this in your company’s annual report or other related sources and reference Chapter 7 in our eText (Links to an external site.) for organizational structure types.
Copy and paste the bios of two of your CC’s executives. Choose executives that interest you, perhaps based on the area of the business they are responsible for (such as marketing, if you’re interested in marketing) or based on demographics and other attributes you find appealing. Provide a 1-2 paragraph reflection on each executive. What stood out to you? What impressed you or interested you about them? What did you learn about their leadership? What past experience do they have? If there is not enough immediate information on the executive, you may need to do additional research beyond a basic bio.
Review your CC’s website and search the Internet for information related to diversity and inclusion within your CC. Does it state a commitment to diversity and inclusion? Some companies have a standalone page, like Apple (Links to an external site.) and Nike (Links to an external site.) that discuss diversity and inclusion efforts such as hiring more women, minority populations or people with disabilities – in addition to being an inclusion employer and business. Provide links to the web pages and documents you find. Summarize your findings and provide examples of how your CC addresses diversity and inclusion. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts — such as sustainability initiatives, corporate foundations, employee volunteer programs, and donations to charity — are increasingly important to consumers and employees alike as more people seek out companies with concern for all stakeholders, not just the bottom line. Review and search your CCs website, usually near the “About US” section and look for information about “Corporate Responsibility” or “Sustainability.” You can also go to CSRhub.org (Links to an external site.) to see how your company ranks on their CSR score.
